Students at Chobham Academy are celebrating another year of excellent A Level results, with nearly all students securing their chosen place at university.

There were a number of notable individual successes, including:

• Asmaa Mahamud, who attained two As and a B in economics, Spanish and religious studies and will be reading Arabic and Islamic Studies at the University of Oxford;
• Afsana Begum, who achieved an A* and two As and will study Politics and History at SOAS, University of London;
• Fatima Khan, who achieved an A*, an A and a B and will study Engineering and Architectural Design at UCL;
• Shaya Tiyana Small, who achieved an A*, an A and a B and will study Psychology at the University of Leicester;
• Eleanor Rose Duplock, who achieved an A* and two As and will study Social Policy at LSE;
• Serina Kaur Sanger, who achieved three As; 
• Milda Smaizyte, who achieved two As and a B; 
• Jerin Anisah Abddin, who achieved an A*, an A and a B. 

In total, 13.5% of grades attained by Chobham students were A*-A  and 36% were A*-B. The average grade attained by students in their A levels was a C grade, and Distinction + for vocational subjects.

“We are thrilled that nearly all of our students secured their chosen place at university this year, a triumphant result given our students come from one of the most socially deprived areas in London.

“It is a fantastic accomplishment for Asmaa to have achieved an Oxford University place, and testament to her hard work and dedication. I am very proud of the quality of our students' results across a very broad range of subjects. We wish them all the very best of luck in their university careers.”
