Sky Sports Confidence month with Thierry Henry and Casey Stoney
On Thursday 27th of October, 15 pupils from Chobham Academy were invited to sky studios to take part in Sky Sports Confidence Month. This is backed by Sky Sports Living for Sports and is about increasing the confidence to succeed in young people through sport. Thierry Henry is one of the Ambassadors for this month, as well as Casey Stoney – a former Arsenal Ladies Captain and England football player. It was a brilliant day and the pupils thoroughly enjoyed it. Hopefully the pupils now have the confidence to pursue their dreams of taking part in high level sport.

“When we arrived at Sky Studios we were given a quick brief by some members of the Sky Sports Living for Sports team before we met Thierry Henry and Casey. We were all really nervous but they were really nice and answered all our questions!
When got into the studio Casey talked to us and introduced Thierry. We got to ask him questions about his career. We also had the opportunity to go outside and play confidence games with Thierry and Casey. They both spoke about what gave them the confidence they needed to be at the top level for their sport. When we finished we took a few pictures with both of them and we took a selfie. They also signed some fooballs for us!
The whole day was filmed and we appeared on Sky News several times over the weekend!
Overall, we all enjoyed our day and learnt a lot with them about never giving up and be determined. We would all like to thank the PE teachers who gave up their time to accompany us on this brilliant once in a life time opportunity. It was an amazing day getting to meet two amazing people”
