Physical Education and Sports Bulletin - Autumn 2015
Here are the latest updates on some of the sporting achievements of our outstanding pupils.
On the 29th September year 7 boys had their first basketball fixture and won against Lister 18-5.
On the 2nd October, year 9 girls netball had their first knockout match in the Essex cup and beat Higham’s Park School 18-2. They now progress to the next round against Woodlands School on 9th November. Good luck.
The Year 9 girls football team are through to the final of the Newham 5-a-side competition. Congratulations.
Well done to all those who ran in the cross country on Wednesday 7th October at Wanstead flats. Congratulations to Stephanie Andre, Keiran Ciara, Sofian Maghouz, Famade Bamba and Chezi Ahyzee, who have all been selected for Newham in the London youth games.
On Thursday 8th October, the Year 7 athletes team competed in the sports hall athletics competition for the first time. After a few nervous starts, both boys and girls are currently sitting 3rd in their borough pool.
The Duke of Edinburgh scheme has seen many year 9 and 10’s sign up to complete the bronze award. As part of the Duke of Edinburgh scheme, students are required to volunteer their time to help others. Well done to Ronaldo and Solander in year 9 for providing a brilliant ball sports club for year 2 and 3.
