China Trip
Our first trip to China went out in November to Beijing and Qingdao, where a group of students from Year 8 up to Year 11 visited our two partner schools. The students had the most wonderful time experiencing the local culture and cuisine!
We have also organised the HSBC competition for the second year in a row. In July, we are welcoming a group of twenty Chinese students who will be shadowing Chobham Academy students for three days. We have found that this is a fantastic experience and really allows students to get to grips with authentic language.
In addition to this, speakers from the University of SOAS and Westminster came to talk about the importance of keeping a language at university level in terms of employment. As we know in a more globalised world, knowing a second language is key to success.
Speaking of success, our language students have achieved the best results ever in their speaking and listening exams. So, congratulations to all of our language students, we can wait for results day!
We are also very excited about the upcoming activity day where we will offer kite making, Kungfu, Spanish films, flamenco and a visit to Tate Modern - a truly enriching experience for all.
