CTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business
Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is for learners who want to study Business through applied learning to progress to Higher Education. Progression could be onto a Business degree, for example Business Management or a non-related degree programme. It also prepares learners to take up employment in business where they could continue to study, either directly after achieving the qualification or after Higher Education.

- Responsible business practice

How is the qualification assessed?
These qualifications are assessed using a combination of:
- External assessment, set and marked by OCR
- Internal assessment, where the teacher assesses learners’ work which is externally moderated by OCR
How are these graded?
Every unit achieved will be graded as pass, merit or distinction. Qualifications are graded using a Pass, Merit, Distinction and Distinction* structure.

Meaningful Employer Involvement
All students must undertake meaningful activity involving employers during their study. Meaningful employer involvement is when:
- Learners undertake structured work-experience or work placements that develop skills and knowledge relevant to the qualification.
- Learners undertake project(s), exercise(s), and/or assessment set with input from industry practitioners.
- Learners take one or more units delivered or co-delivered by an industry practitioner. This could take the form or master classes or guest lectures.
- Industry practitioners operate as ‘expert witnesses’ that contribute to the assessment of a learner’s work or practice, operating within a specified assessment framework.
